The Babies have arrived!!!

January 5th I had just finished watching a movie with Richard and decided I should go to bed because church was the next morning. I couldn't fall asleep so instead I sat at the computer and just messed around. After I had posted on Facebook about how many hours it was until my scheduled C-section I got up to go to the bathroom and BANG!, I was leaking. My water had broke. Let me tell you it is such a funny feeling. I had never experienced it before so this was all new to me. I couldn't stop laughing because I couldn't stop it, it just kept coming and coming. Richard and I gathered up our bags and such and went right to the hospital. (DR. Judd had warned me that when my water breaks to not waste time, because there are 2 babies pushing on that) We got to the hospital and checked in. I made the nurses laugh because I was laughing so we were having a good time. I got into the room around 2 a.m. I wasn't really having any contractions so they just hooked me up and monitored everything. Due to me not having bad contractions, DR. Judd decided we would wait and do the C-section at 7 a.m. so we wouldn't have to call anyone in. Well that didn't go as planned, I ended up having contractions and they just got worse. My awesome nurse Karine came in around 430 and said that was a bad one, I am calling Dr. Judd. We are going to get started. The anesthesiologist came in to talk to me about the spinal block I would be receiving, a nurse came in a gave me an IV (bruised the heck out of me) and my catheter. They wheeled me into the OR and we got started. They had the radio playing a rock station, it was awesome. We were all singing and having a good time, just what I needed to relax because I was a little nervous about surgery. I got my spinal block and within seconds I was numb. It is a totally different feeling than an epidural. They laid me on the table and put up a curtain and gave me an oxygen mask. That is when Richard was able to come in. I was laying there and looked up and said, so when is this gonna happen and the anesthesiologist looks at me and says it has. Dr. Judd has already opened you up. Logan was first and was born at 5:49 a.m., seconds later came Savannah. The clock hadn't even changed by the time she was born so they just said 5:50. It was incredibly fast. Richard hung out with the babies as they were getting checked out and weighed. Logan weighed 7 lbs 4 oz and was 19.5 inches long. Savannah weighed 7 lbs 5 oz and was 20 inches long. I'm pretty proud of myself for producing 15 lbs of baby. They were both beautiful and looked nothing alike. They stitched me up and got my back to my room while Richard went with the babies. Savannah had some breathing problems. They kept her in the nursery for her first night to monitor her. I got some snuggle time with Logan but I wanted her there. Richard made sure to be with Savannah every chance he got.
